Es wurde in einem 1778 erbauten Wohnhaus eröffnet. Bereits 1852 bewarb sich Bürgermeister Müller um eine Gasthauskonzession und wohnte auch in dem heutigen Gasthaus. Neben dem großen, schattigen Wirtsgarten stand dort auch das letzte Gemeindebackhaus Berkersheims. In dem Gasthaus gab es in früheren Zeiten auch eine Posthilfsstelle. Der einzige Briefkasten des Dorfes befand sich im Hof des Anwesens. Im Hausflur befand sich der einzige und erste öffentliche Fernsprechapparat. In der Küche konnte man Briefmarken erwerben. 1928 umfasst die zum Anwesen dazugehörige Landwirtschaft ca. 18 Ha. Angebaut werden unter anderem Futter- und Zuckerrüben, Weizen und Kartoffeln. Auch Nutztiere werden gehalten, so zum Beispiel Schweine, 10 Milchkühe und Pferde. Das Kriegsgeschehen hinterlässt leider auch an dem Anwesen deutliche Spuren. Durch amerikanische Artelleriesalven werden der Saal und die Scheune schwer beschädigt. 1963' umfasst die Landwirtschaft immer noch 15 Ha. Auf Grund der zum Anwesen gehörenden Landwirtschaft hat das Gasthaus 3 Mal in der Woche geschlossen. Nur so kann eine funktionierende Landwirtschaft sicher gestellt werden. 1981 wird das Obergeschoss des Hauses erweitert und der vorhandene Balkon in die Erweiterung mit einbezogen.
