Die '''Internationale Bauausstellung 2013 Hamburg''' setzt die lange Tradition solcher Ausstellungen fort. Es geht allgemein um das Finden innovativer Lösungen des städtischen und kommunalen Lebens. Im Einzelnen findet die IBA 2013 unter drei Leitthemen statt: Unter der Überschrift '''Kosmopolis''' soll die Zukunft des Miteinanders städtebaulich entwickelt werden. Unter dem Motto '''Metrozonen''' gibt es eine Gestaltung der inneren Stadtränder hin zu lebenswerten Quartieren. Der Klimawandel ist als Begriff aus den täglichen Diskussionen bekannt, so dass dieses zentrale Thema unter dem Motto '''Stadt im Klimawandel''' auf der IBA 2013 eine Verbindung von Wachstum und Nachhaltigkeit schaffen soll.<br />
