Es handelt sich um ein reich verziertes, zylindrisches Gefäß aus ver[[gold]]etem [[Kupfer]]. Auf dem Deckel sind Figuren von [[Buddha]] im [[Lotussitz]] sowie [[Brahma]] und [[Indra]] in stehender Haltung angebracht. Der obere Rand des Gefäßes ist der Darstellung von fliegenden Wildgänsen verziert, welche die reisenden Seelen und den Kreislauf von Werden und Vergehen (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Samsara]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) symbolisieren. Weiter unten werden Sonnen- und Mond[[gottheit]]en, Menschen und [[Cherubim]] in [[Hellenismus|hellenistischem]] Stil gezeigt. Eine Inschrift aus dem Reliquiar besagt: &amp;#039;&amp;#039;maharajasa kanishkasa kanishka-pure nagare aya gadha-karae deya-dharme sarva-satvana hita-suhartha bhavatu mahasenasa sagharaki dasa agisala nava-karmi ana*kanishkasa vihare mahasenasa sangharame.&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Im Inneren des Reliquiars fand man drei Knochenfragmente die Buddha gehören sollen. Das Kunstwerk wird auf das erste Jahr der Herrschaft des indischen Großkönigs [[Kanischka]], des Herrschers von [[Kuschana]], datiert. Es wurde 1909 bei Ausgrabungen unter einer großen Kanischka-[[Stupa]] in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Shah-ji-Dheri&amp;#039;&amp;#039; bei [[Peschawar]] entdeckt. &lt;br /&gt;
