* Die Bucht liegt an der Atlantikküste in der kanadischen Provinz [[Nova Scotia]] am östlichen Ende des [[Lunenburg County]].<br />
* In der ''Mahone Bay'' wird traditionell viel Fischfang betrieben.<br />
* Die Bucht wurde nach dem französischen Wort ''mahonne'', welches eine Bootsform bezeichnet, benannt.<br />
* Die Bucht war früher eine Hochburg marodierender [[Seeräuber]].<br />
* Auf der nahegelegenen Insel ''Oak Island'' hat der legendäre Seeräuber ''Captain Kidd'', auch [[Blackbeard]] genannt, angeblich einen Schatz vergraben. Man hat inzwischen an die 10 Millionen Dollar für die Schatzsuche ausgegeben, bei der sieben Menschen ums Leben kamen.
