== Beruflicher Werdegang ==<br />

Nach siebenjähriger Tätigkeit in der Simsseeklinik Bad Endorf im Bereich Sportrehabilitation wechselte Thomas Wilhelmi 2001 zum 1. FC Nürnberg unter Cheftrainer Klaus Augenthaler als Reha- und Konditionstrainer. Als dieser am 30. April 2003 beurlaubt wurde, traf Thomas Wilhelmi das gleiche Schicksal. Ebenfalls zusammen mit Klaus Augenthaler wurde er am 13. Mai 2003 von Bayer 04 Leverkusen angestellt, auch hier als Reha- und Fitnesstrainer. Am 16. September 2005 erfolgte auch hier, wieder gemeinsam mit Klaus Augenthaler, die Beurlaubung. Hier aber trennten sich die beruflichen Wege zwischen Augenthaler und Wilhelmi.<br />
<br />
Im Jahr 2006 absolvierte Thomas Wilhelmi mehrere Praktika bei Mark Verstegen in seinem Zentrum "Athlete´s Performance" in Phoenix/Arizona in den USA. Hier konnte er sich dessen sportliches Konzept aneignen. Über Mark Verstegen lernte Thomas Wilhelmi während der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 den Physiotherapeuten des FC Bayern München und der deutschen Fußball-Nationalmannschaft Oliver Schmidtlein kennen. Über diesen kam Thomas Wilhelmi im Februar 2007 hauptamtlich zum FC Bayern München.<br />
<br />
Gleichzeitig erhielt er von Mark Verstegen das Angebot, für seine Firma als Fitness-Trainer für die deutsche U21-Nationalmannschaft tätig zu sein. Im Juni 2007 bekam er vom FC Bayern München das Angebot eines Drei-Jahres-Vertrages. Seit 1. Juli 2007 ist er nun dort als Fitness- und Rehatrainer tätig. Um sich voll auf die Arbeit beim FC Bayern konzentrieren zu können, beendete Wilhelmi seine Arbeit für den DFB.<br />
<br />
Seit Sommer 2007 ist Wilhelmi nun Mitglied des Trainerstabes des FC Bayern München, wobei sein Arbeitsschwerpunkt in der Rehabilitation nach Verletzungen sowie im Individualtraining der Profis liegt. <br />
